The phrase "King of Kings" has been used by several ancient civilizations, primarily in the Middle East. It was first introduced by the Assyrian king Tukulti-Ninurta I around 1233–1197 BC as "šar šarrāni," which literally meant "king of kings". This title was later used by monarchs of Assyria and Babylon, including Esarhaddon and Ashurbanipal. The title was also used by the last Neo-Babylonian king, Nabonidus. Additionally, the phrase appears in the Bible, where it is applied to God and Jesus, emphasizing their supreme authority. Therefore, at least three major ancient civilizations—Assyrian, Babylonian, and possibly others in the region—used the phrase "King of Kings
