Society can no longer fulfil the demand for “meaning and purpose” in human life, because both avenues to achieve this - idealism/spirituality on one hand, and materialism/sensualism on the other - have now been irrevocably destroyed.
The only path that remains is to transcend desire and duality altogether. Those who cannot do this will perish in the coming age.

I don't recommend it for most people. It's very 'heady' and requires lots of study, abstract concepts etc. You need 130 IQ + to really grasp it. Most 'buddhists' are just plebs that follow doctrine and dogma, and never achieve awakening.

The Taoist path is 'easier' and doesn't really emphasise escape as much as it does living in harmony. Doesn't require intellectual study or adherence to any doctrine, really.

1. The eightfold path is actually called the Aryan Eightfold Path. The Buddha teaches us how to become a true Aryan.

2. The Buddha teaches us to stay away from women because they are evil.

3. Sexually deviant behavior is a violation of the third precept, to refrain from sexual misconduct

This is right. One way of reading the Dhammapada is, to call anyone Aryan who follows the Dharma. It's a little different from Hinduism because basically if you're able to encounter a Mahayana Sutra you have already planted the roots of Aryan nobility. The proper translation of "Arhat" is "Aryan" but Jews changed it.

Because Buddhism is wrong on principle. For a properly healthy individual, the mere fact of existing is a source of pleasure, and such individual would not want to achieve Nirvana, but to engage indefinitely in the Cycle of Death and Rebirth. I've been almost there, I've seen a faint sign of it.
The real question is, is it possible, under the current circumstances of the world, to produce individuals that possess such Great Health?

This is why I believe Christianity is right and Buddhism is the limit of mankind. Buddhism recognizes the spirit of man and that there are evil forces that want his soul. They recognize that the best path forward is escape, but they lack the divine revelation that makes escape possible. The best they can hope for is for complete stillness of spirit. Christ taught instead that he was the missing link, the "way". In a sense, Christ is nirvana calling and showing the true path to righteousness. The main difference of course is that it's not escape from the wheel, it's escape from damnation.

Lotus Sutra. I'm a firm believer that you can get to Enlightenment with just this one Sutra. Not that you'd want to, since it preaches the Bodhisattva Vehicle. It really relaxes me, the nice thing about it is it's very easy on the surface and it doesn't force you to think. But if you want to dwell on symbolism it's very dense. A Great Work of theology

Here then,
Form is no other than emptiness,
Emptiness no other than form.
Form is only emptiness,
Emptiness only form.
Feeling, thought, and choice,
Consciousness itself,
Are the same as this.
All things are by nature void
They are not born or destroyed
Nor are they stained or pure
Nor do they wax or wane
So, in emptiness, no form,
No feeling, thought, or choice,
Nor is there consciousness.
No eye, ear, nose, tongue, body,
mind;
No colour, sound, smell, taste,
touch,
Or what the mind takes hold of,
Nor even act of sensing.

Because most of /pol/ is stuck in a Bronze Age tier way of thinking that, ironically enough, makes them very similar to jews. Basically in the Bronze age there's no right or wrong, there's only application of might and the weak submitting to the strong, and subterfuge.

In Buddhism objective qualities are delineated, it's not
>what's beneficial to me, and bad for my enemies
It's
>what is essentially good?
A question that Bronze age troglodytes never ask themselves, as they're stuck in samsara and proud of it.

About 20-odd years ago, I read a bunch of books on buddhism and concluded that whilst it's pretty cool in many ways, ultimately, it seemed to be about finding "enlightenment" (basically contentment) through making yourself retarded.

I can't remember why I thought that exactly, but that was the conclusion I came to, and when I visited Thailand around 15 years later, my suspicion was fully validated.

Thailand isn't real Buddhism 99% of the time. Unironically actual Buddhism died out thousands of years ago just as the Buddha said it would

The Thai people worship Brahma and devas for the most part. The few "monks" there devote themselves to making amulets, doing exorcisms and casting spells. They couldn't even read their own Pali scriptures until Europeans arrived and translated the suttas for them. The Theravada monks would just chant small segments of Pali they thought had magical effects, not knowing the words they spoke. This is why Mahayanists called them "shravakas" aka "hearers"

Mahayanists on the other hand are just Hindus with a different vocabulary

Beware of the vipassanna movement, which is a modern misreading of the Suttas. The "noting" exercise may push you toward psychosis if you do it too much. Instead, practice the jhanas, as the Buddha said.

chapter 16 of the lotus sutra unironically fixes everything metaphysically wrong with Christianity.

not one and only chosen son of god sent to one place and time but a having been everywhere on all worlds throughout all time, appearing and teaching according to the needs and ability to understand of the beings.

Yes, but are being obtuse about it, it doesn't believe in the human soul as Christianity because it believes the "soul" is an illusion, yet buddhism do not believe in illusion as "fake" more like a faulty perception. Like"souls" are a faulty perception of an even greater spiritual source

pretty much all religions have the same nondual core message. some are or have become much less clear over the ages though which is why it's so easy for modern believers to mistake the map for the territory. it's analogous to believing that the music trying to describe silence is actual silence

> it believes the "soul" is an illusion

that's what most 'buddhists' believe yes, as the IQ of the average Buddhist is quite low.

Anatman doesn't mean there is no self. It is a way of negating what is not the self.

The buddha-nature doctrine is hard to grasp for midwits. They are better off with christcuckery.

Sincretism between east and west is always interesting, but it will never never never be true, at its very theological core Buddhism and Semitic religions believe in different things which are irreconcilable

How is he the key, exactly? How is he going to "save you"? And from what? Have you ever thought about the fact Christ was a mystic, just like the Buddha, and that they more or less taught the same thing?

it is for midwits that have not attained the dharma-eye. The only thing irreconcilable is the doctrine that most adhere to. Their entire understanding of the doctrine is misunderstood.

Yeah that sounds like a reasonable assessment, anon. Although I would posit, that the monks there are just as much interested in dealing crystal meth and gambling, once you get to know the place a little better.

I would always joked, that the country should replace their golden buddha statues with giant golden dollar signs.

I don't think it's that extremely hard, the problem is that I'm order to understand it you have to erase (at least temporary) the concept of soul that the west and Christianity have imbued into society, and that's extremely hard for most, learning is one thing, editing one's knowledge is an entirely different and harder skill

after your reincarnation cycle ends and you are enlightened the your soul dissolves in the eternal void

incorrect understanding, completely wrong. IF you arrive at the 'void' understanding, you are only half way there. It is THIS, right now. It has always been this, it will never not be this. It doesn't 'end' in some eternal void. THIS is immortal.

Yes, but in turn this have been the base for western esoterism since Rosicrucianism, last 300 years of western esoterism is based on misinterpret buddhism and Hinduism, somehow creating something different than both Christianity and Buddhism

Buddhism as practiced in Asia actually focuses mostly on communing with and influencing spirits. You're only familiar with western secular Buddhism, which is both largely academic and influenced by Protestant Christianity

Here's a good article on the subject-

ok, i can somewhat agree with that. Tthe tendency when studying buddhism is to lean towards nihilism, incorrect understandings and interpretations of 'emptiness' 'no self', void, stuff like that.

The mahayana school essentially solves this, somewhat, yes, but I have come across very few that really 'get it'.

That's why I practice Taiji and talk in Taoist terms. Much simpler honestly, more down to earth with no rush towards enlightenment.
