There was no coup. Yanukovych voluntarily chose to leave Ukraine on his own. He abandoned his office and abdicated his position and left the country.

Ultimately I think the truth is that they sought negotation and NATO chose to lie. NATO still lies, and refuses to take responsibility for the 2014 coup and NATO expansion which remains a primary cause of the conflict.
