Jews are descendants of Semites who already had a lot of European admixture. After arriving in Europe, they intermarried and acquired even more. Yeah they are technically white. I think the Gaza stuff is slowly making them realize that they are, whether they like it or not.
The problem with white from an American political perspective is, this country was set up for the Anglo colonials and their descendants. Giving representation to every fresh off the boat idiot has subverted that. The Irish for example are still sore about their treatment and have thrown open the gates in revenge. Now we have a Ugandan Muslim about to seize control of our premier city.
Either identity matters or it doesn't. Of course the Ugandan is complaining about "Whites" holding too much power. Everyone is an identarian for the side they like.
Ultimately the Jews are closing in on something true by attempting to reject "White". White is too broad a category for a political coalition or an "identity". It is doomed to failure. Religion at the end of the day is inseparable from Race. I know the Secularists thought they could pry the two apart, but even now there are pagans attempting to reconstruct some defunct practices using Christian monk's writings about them. It's a farce, but even they realize genetics isn't a way out.

"white" only doesn't work going forward. obvious brown people will always be rejected from it. Now that America is mostly brown the historical "white" assimilationist identity will have to be discarded. there was ethnic strife under the white identity for sure, but it's just plain impossible now with the demographics of America. Which is going to make America a completely basket case for a long while. I don't think such a diverse society has a future, personally.
