My country has been financing it's military with 1,3 to 1,6 percent of GDP since the end of the Cold War.
Unlike many other European nations my country has only increased it's military potential over the decades after the fall of USSR.
We've maintained the largest artillery force in western Europe by a long shot while others saying having artillery is "obsolete".
To put things into perspective if the US would have the system we have and it was adjusted to population size the US would have to the following:
-Train 1 668 600 military men every year
-Maintain a reserve of 55 620 000 of trained personnel
-Be able to equip and field 17 304 000 men in times of war
-Have a fleet of 3955 capable modern fighter jets
-Maintain 12 360 Leopard 2 level main battle tanks
-Maintain 13 102 Infantry Combat Vehicles
-Have 92 700 artillery pieces of various types
And much much more.
What the fuck are we supped to do with a budget of fucking FIVE PERCENT OF OUR GDP????
Plate everything we have in gold??
