I think social media and the news are a load of fearmongering bullshit.
I literally just graduated and already have a £32K job (outside London) - it also includes health insurance and bonuses. My sister and my classmates also just found decent jobs after graduating. The UK economy is supposed to be in the shits.

I only applied to 25 job listings. 7 got back to me and got the one. Maybe it's just luck, because my cousin has a CS degree and works min wage.

Some legit companies keep postings up so they don't lose their rank on the job board. Those are not real jobs. Other companies are harvesting data from resumes they get in order to spam you or steal your identity. Those are also not real jobs. For real jobs you have to go to a companies website directly and apply.

That's how it is here. There are so many people applying for jobs completely ignoring the requirements. In health care here you have to go through a vetting process which costs money and of course the applicants don't want to pay for that without a guaranteed job. So they apply without it and get ignored.
