Oil has shown countless of times to be a stability guarantee all sorts of regimes that one can not approve of. Whoever individually uses more energy than can be covered by whatever the current fraction of renewables over world population is, is directly supporting regimes like the ones we are wittnessing for example in russia, the middle east and some places in africa.
