So what if music sucks these days? Make your own!
It's fun and easy and Free to get started but this like any hobby worth pursuing is also worth investing in. If I'm not fishing or dealing with my garden plants, I'm jamming out.

>waaaah i can't play music
learn, even the cave people would make music
>oh look how much money you spent!
it's less than a SHITTY motorcycle plus gear
>electronic music is nigger beats
untrue, it's white, in fact without the MPC no modern black music would exist outside jazz

It does, your chances of getting good music over the radio, streaming, or through recommendations online or through the media are slim to none.

Nobody even covered Aphex Twin's last album other than to say "it was the same" lol. He hand crafted the whole thing each measure at a time and that's all they can say, while praising the new drill rapper who just died.

Not to ride Richard's dick or anything but there are people hand crafting their music who aren't checking the DEI boxes and getting ignored.

Music sucks these days.

>I'm jamming out.
There isn't a single musical instrument in that picture. You can't jam without a musical instrument.
Did you know a decent linux audio distro can replace all that nigger beat making garbage?

that's gay, that's not even a hobby but it sounds more like a chore lol

>>508836435
They're all musical instruments my dear young kiddo. Also I pre-debunked the automatic nigger beat thing you did and Linux doesn't have a single good sequencer other than Renoise and PD.

no its not, the AI can literally do any genre and any instrument.
>but it sounds more like a chore lol
you literally just tell the AI what you want and you get it in 10 seconds.
prompting music is fun af

The single good use for AI I've seen is making bangers.

How does /pol/ take over the music scene? We already have popular culture by the ball-hairs.

AI music is okay in theory. I don't have a problem with it. But playing your own music is very therapeutic.

what does it matter how you make the music as long as you enjoy the end result?

No it's not, it's literally like saying "paint me a cat." It doesn't help you, there's no skill there to master and as the AIs are never static you can never riff on prior work like I can by opening a simple 1980's era MIDI file.

It's all "in the cloud" and etc. and even today there are people stupid enough to pay good money to rent virtual software or AI agents.

A sequencer isn't jamming. To jam, first you need to play an actual musical instrument. Jamming is impromptu, spontaneous. My electric bass instructor taught me how to jam in 1988. He played in a top 40 country cover band because that paid the mortgage and bills, but then he played some King Crimson for me just because he could.
King Crimson isn't a jam band- they compose music. A great jam band is Phish.

>what does it matter how you make the music as long as you enjoy the end result?
Why would you make a TV show instead of watching one? Why make dinner instead of ordering it?

>A sequencer isn't jamming.
Wrong.

I can lay down a bass riff and then loop it from a punch in and punch out and record hundreds of takes of me jamming with myself on the lead then once I like that I can move to the next instrument.

It's how a composer in the 1700s worked except he had a small piano maybe so he had to hear the parts in his mind. I can use VL synthesis to virtually acoustically physically model a violin, I don't even NEED a virtuoso.

Current music definitely sucks, but i recently caved and got the amazon music unlimited subscription so I can listen to damn near anything. I listen to mostly 60s/70s/90s

Nobody even KNOWS what it does lol.

I listen to old music that's already great. In 500 years Vivaldi, Bach, Beethoven and Wagner will be just as great as they are now. The Jews can't take this from me no matter how hard they try.

Oh and the composer had to take each thing down by hand.

I can do and undo a thing, 99 levels of undo and redo. So I can try a thing out, riff on it, click twice, and it's as if I never did it. And shift-click twice to go back.

Composers don't use sheets of paper these days. I mean other than as a sort of mental exercise.
