I think Taiwan will be very different than Ukraine, as far as i know the Taiwanese people don't hold a deep hatred of mainlanders unlike in ukraine there were so many people itching to kill russians. Although traversing the strait adds an interesting dynamic when comparing the two, if taiwan does fight back it could go south for the bugs pretty quick

Taiwanese and coastal mainlanders are already in agreement in being pro capitalist. Trump won't do shit tho if/until Xi pushes to take Taiwan, fails, and the political fallout makes it tenable for them to be overt about it instead of putting up with more CCP centralized control. And that requires military aid Trump won't send unless the euros make him look bad by sending their own military aid and they won't. No profit in aiding Taiwan for free.
