I used to keep deleting my watch history because I was sick of it recommending the same shit even when when I was watching something different. It still records everything, of course, but it pretends to do it a little less for a while and you get more related things. (Like maybe, the next song in the album instead of 35 fucking chess tutorials)

Nothing much happens here. There is a huge amount of content produced by Americans so is very easy for Australian TV to repackage news from the US rather than put in the effort to create news locally (and locally produced news probably wouldn't be as interested as what happens in the USA). If you look at the ABC (Australian Broadcasting Corporation), they produce a a huge amount of local news with government money, but you'll soon realise it's all rubbish.
