I'm conflicted on this. If I were chasing down a thief, and I were certain they had my belongings, and I noticed they had a gun, then I'd want to be able to shoot them instantly. Likewise if I were falsely accused of stealing, I think I should still be allowed to have a gun without being shot, even if I were a teen.

Problem is extremely low trust racially diverse communities. Foreigners from China and India were seen as soft targets for criminals for a long time. They open up shops in the hood, because it's cheap, thinking "this couldn't be worse than my hometown, which is also poor," but they aren't prepared to be racially targeted by people who are more impulsive, dumb, and violent than those of their hometown.

I think we all just need to accept that black kids have a reputation for being violent rowdy thieves and that they need to behave themselves and be extra mindful if they ever want that reputation to go away.
