>>508885399 (OP)People will say yes but the real answer is probably not. Kind of like universal helathcare always winning in polls, then when the same poll goes "would you support raising taxes to pay for it" everyone goes no. Like people would scream yeah i would pay more, but when they see prices go up they will start freaking out. Actually i noticed a broader issue here, like a lot of people seem to vote based on some fantasy they have, like with Trump deporting illegal workers, you got pro trump supporters who now are in trouble because they lost a lot of workers and they get interviewed and go "how could this happen", and i dont think they are lying, in their head when Trump said he wanted to deport people they genuinely thought it meant it wouldn't affect them, its bizarre. Even weirder are the cubans in Miami who are crying their illegal family members get deported and say how they supported Trump and how could this happen, but like how are you even surprised?
Same here. Yeah people will say yes, i will support higher prices/lower QOL, they will go to rallies and all say that yes they support it and they will wear shirts supporting it. But then when food gets even one dollar more expensive they will say "how could this happen" and they wont be lying, they genuinely thought that somehow, prices will get higher and QOL will get lower but their lifestyle, somehow, wouldn't change at all.
