why not no eyes visible and instead they wear a special burkha with a reverse periscope built in so they can see their feet and where they are going and any items they pick up. they only need to see one or two metres in front of their feet.
stevie wonder is blind and can walk about no issues so a downwards-looking periscope burkha is hardly a hindrance.
