I watch The Missing Enigma on youtube, and I hope you check it out. He's debunked a handful of Missing 411 cases. I'm perfectly capable of knowing he's been wrong a number of times, as well as intrigued by the (still real) possibility that something weird is happening in some of these disappearances.
I think some people get WAY too into the 'culture' around this stuff, and get a little bit gatekeeper-ish, and I'm just not invested enough to be emotionally involved one way or another. What I *do* like is an intriguing mystery with possible implications that lead my mind into fascinating places.
Yeah, they might get debunked. Yeah, they might ultimately wind up being tied to totally predictable, boring circumstances. But I'd rather someone be exploring those possibilities, just in case there's merit to them.
If only one case is a true, honest case of 'paranormal' or 'conspiratorial' stuff taking place, then the entire endeavor will have been worthwhile.
