It's justifiable, it's acceptable, it's necessary and so on using such mental mechanisms and self-copes to condition out guilt, remorse and panic over the act.

Ok using really false mechanisms for conditioning out guilt. He might tell himself, welp, if I don't hurt them they would likely hurt me sometime down the line if they could anyway, or so what? No one cares about missing people even if they pretend to. Denial is a really funny thing like that, the unclimbable walls one can build, most people don't know they are even doing but you can use it just the same in cases like murder and do it on purpose sort of train your brain but only in that tiny, tiny slice where emotions used to be located in the brain without resulting in the disintegration of the entire personality.
