How does that work? Indonesia is a SEA country. They're barely mentioned anywhere. One in 8 Muslims is Indonesian.

They received Islam from peaceful missionaries and trade as they were positioned between the Muslim world and China for trade routes by sea. Being a Muslim was good for trade. More importantly, Islam is the Truth.

Most Islamic nations are just really poor due to the nature of their religion and how it shapes their society. The exceptions are the oil nations but they all suffer from Dutch Disease.
