Among those remaining, we basically only interviewed people without previous financial experience because the middle managers running the search had a hard on for “data-oriented” STEM girlies. She ended up hiring a 30-something spinster with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in chemical engineering but absolutely no financial experience or interest. Why? Because she said in the interview that all data is the same and basically just dropped all the gay buzzwords.

This is why it sucks right now.

So if you’re struggling to get a job, don’t beat yourself up. Understand that people making the decisions are literally useless and retarded phonies that have no idea how to do anything well or effectively and are collectively the reason for severe institutional decline.

That’s why I always tell young guys to go all in on NOT having to resort to a traditional institutional career. They need to accept that they’re not going to have a good career in a corporation, in academia, in big law, even in retail. It’s NOT going to happen. So you should just try to avoid it. I am painfully aware, and this applies to all sections of society. This is mostly because of deviation from expectations.
