>>508960683 (OP)I've been on speedboats. I don't get the appeal. They're boring as fuck.
I was recently talking to my family about how people mostly do things just to socially signal and not for any personal satisfaction. It makes you look awesome to have pictures on a speedboat, hiking in exotic locations, doing rock climbing, driving supercars, going to the gym, etc. But none of these things are actually innately enjoyable. Most of them are boring and expensive at best.
Nobody seems to understand me when I bring this up. My family sure didn't. They think I'm depressed or something, but I'm actually very content with myself. I just don't really have carnal desires or a call to adventure I guess.
My friends tell me that they're miserable when they go on vacation and don't explore the world and do crazy things. They aren't satisfied with just being with their families and enjoying the peace and quiet. They always have to be doing something. They're very busy minded. They talk about "spirituality" a lot, but to me it seems like they're just using it as a code word for social interaction... Why are they like this?
