Insurance is a scam. Because it is legally required, I have paid more than 50k dollars into car insurance so far and will be over 100k before I die probably. I can pretty much garuntee I will never need to use it. But I'm forced to pay it anyway, so that the insurance company can afford to pay out for all the bad drivers.
