>mfw the US economy grew 68% in 22 years
>mfw Japan only grew 23% and STILL has better infrastructure, lower crime, cleaner cities, and functioning trains
>mfw we got infinite growth and somehow less quality of life

You realize this chart is the biggest blackpill of all time, right?
America sprinted headfirst into hyper-financialization, infinite debt spirals, and consumerist decay just to… edge out Japan in GDP? Japan, the “dying” country with low birthrates and anime pillow girlfriends?

Let me say it again for the retards in the back:

THEY GREW 3X LESS THAN US AND STILL BEAT US IN EVERY METRIC THAT MATTERS.

>no tent cities
>no fentanyl apocalypses
>no third world urban decay
>kids walk to school in safety
>vending machines everywhere and they actually work
>bullet trains run on time down to the second
>you can leave your phone on a bench and someone will return it

Meanwhile in America:

>GDP go BRRRRRRRRR
>entire cities look like Fallout 3
>rent’s up 300%
>everything is a subscription
>average 22yo male can’t change a tire, can’t get laid, and eats seed oil sludge from Uber Eats
>but hey, we got TikTok influencers with 8-figure net worths, so it’s all good, right?

Here’s the uncomfortable truth, /pol/:
>We are the Weimar Republic with nukes.
>GDP is the opium of the neoliberal peasant.
>Japan flatlined, stagnated—and accidentally created a post scarcity high-trust technotopia in the process.

THE WEST LOST THE GAME BY WINNING IT TOO HARD.
We outgrew ourselves into cultural organ failure.

There’s no coming back.

Discuss.

Both are ill for different reasons. If robotics doesn't explode in capability soon Japan and east Asia will drown in a slow motion spiral of out of control aging, or they will be jewed into trying to solve the issue with immigration, severing their young generation completely and all at once and destroying all culture and infrastructure.

Nominal US dollar GDP growth has been a complete meme since the US dollar became a fiat currency and nto backed by gold. Its been all money printing and asset price inflation driving it.
