Just because there is some corruption doesn't mean you burn down whole institutions that in principle serve the public interest first. If you do that, you create a vacuum that corporations will fill, and they will be 100x worse. The institutions and the buildings themselves are sound, you get rid of the corrupt people and put good people in, ideally people who are as independent and unbent as possible.
Corporates have a place, it's in business and not in the public sphere. Once they get in there it's the end of civilized society and the golden age of the middle class, and the start of tech fiefdoms, poverty and misery.
