no thats the opposite. in asia being a hapa is seen as desirable and aspirational.

thats why i said speaking the language is most important. if the hapa is fluent in the asian sides language then they'll have no problem fitting in. the issue is when some hapa that was brought up in the west and doesnt speak a lick of chingchong thats when they'll have issues fitting in to asian society. many hapas become major stars and tv personalities in asia because they can speak the language well and they are considered more attractive because they have white features

the CEO of a company i used to work for was a hapa too. american/taiwanese. american father. he was an entrepreneur didnt seem like he had trouble fitting in he would give speaches at conferences and get taiwan government contracts easily. apart from that he would constantly talk about scuba diving, all he would do in his spare time was diving on coral reefs and try to beg me to go diving too even though i never dived and feel its way too risky. some 10/10 hotties worked for the company too.

ive met many hapas in taiwan and elsewhere and what seperates the succesful ones and the cringe ones is only their ability to speak chinese.

I have a neighbor who has a Chinese wife, and his kids just look straight Chinese. I guess there's a very slight he difference but you wouldn't know if you weren't looking for it.

this concept of "fitting in" is weird too. some of you seem to think life is about being utterly unremarkable. but in what context? the world is a big and complicated place. outside of highschool theres the big wide world outside of your own country. as long as you find your niche. your ability to achieve self realisation isnt based around being average, normal or not sticking out.
