The main reason white urbanites flee their shitholes and always vote blue is actually because the GOP takes up literally zero urban policies. They offer these people nothing. They don’t want to help them buy a house in the city, they don’t want to help them with student loan debt, they don’t want to make their cities more walkable, bikable, or traversable via public transit, they don’t even seriously want to lower taxes. All Republicans do is mock and disdain these people. Now they’re taking away the serf class that was the only thing keeping things cheap for them and they wonder why the white college educated urbanites hate them. The industries Republicans promote aren’t even urban industries. It’s all stuff like oil and gas, farming and ranching, etc. They’ll give a trillion subsidies to farmers and oil companies but threaten law firms and universities with DOJ action if they don’t do what they say.
I’m not saying these urbanites are right. I’m just pointing out why there is zero hope of them voting Republican no matter where they go. At most, they pull a Joe Rogan and vote for kind of vaguely left-libertarian policies that they consider “conservative” because they have leftoid brain. But they will never vote red because the red team isn’t selling them anything.
