It really is pretty blatantly a facade that they won't let you legally drive cars that are unsafe for you, but you can drive a 2.5 ton pickup that will obliterate whatever it hits regardless of safety ratings. Makes no fucking sense whatsoever. I should be able to risk my own life

Same. I only drive to go to work / leisure and having a simple, cheap truck for my bike or whatever would be kino.

Kei trucks are absolutely based and are only banned/made retardedly hard to buy because the country is retarded for emissions. Perhaps also truck companies cockblocking.

Every fucking zoomie w/ a part time job in college could save up and have a nice, small vehicle. Can't have that.

obviously it's not about safety. they don't want cheap cars on the road bc a debt based society means the price of the underlying asset needs to go up (cars, houses). this is all by design to keep you working.

you ever wonder why housing costs (I mean building costs I know land value goes up) have continued to go up even with more advanced tools? you ever wonder why cars are getting more expensive even though the technology for the most part hasn't changed in 100 years? you ever wonder the real reason for the cash for clunkers program was? it was to get cheap cars off the market so you would have to go out and buy an expensive newer car so that you keep showing up to work.

It's the Ford/GM/whatever that 3rd entity owned by Fiat is called now ordering the government to be a janny and SHUT IT DOWN so no vehicle that costs less than $100k, is reliable and cheap to operate is allowed to enter the market to compete with $150k SUVs. There should honestly not be any trade barriers with Japan because they're an important ally and JDM cars should be allowed to be imported into the US market without any age restrictions. The car market in the US is absolutely fucked now with shitty 10 year old 100k mile Corollas going for $15000.

They're mostly banned in New Zealand and Australia too which sucks because I want one for camping.
When I say "banned" I mean they can't be road registered so the few that get imported are just little 4x4 ones for farm use.
I have noticed some of the newest ones are starting to conform to safety standards so I'm optimistic

I worked with a plumber who had a small fleet of early '90s Toyota 1-ton tool trucks.
He was still running them up into the mid-2010s and bragged about the gas mileage compared to his conversion vans.
Rated at 16mpg city - 22mpg highway
Didn't have much in the way of balls when they were loaded down but they could keep up on the highway.

Worked for a guy who had a fleet of late 2010s Ford and GM 3/4 tons and they were full of electronic slop and insidious DEF systems.
Always in the shop.

Fuck the NHSTA and US auto industry

We agree.
We like small trucks.

The problem, you see, is racism.
Racism causes White people to overconsume.
Over-consumption causes White people to burn more hydrocarbons.
Burning more hydrocarbons causes climate change.
Climate change makes women cry.
Women crying makes simps nervous.

These nervous simps are exactly what the Jews intended to cause, so they can start bullshit companies to siphon off more tax dollars literally BURYING WOOD CHIPS to pretend that this somehow helps the environment.

If we drove smaller trucks, that would negate the need for the Jews to bury the wood chips.
Therefore, the US Federal Government outlawed small trucks to prevent racist White men from driving them.

Unfortunately, I am not joking.
