I can't achieve my goals without hard work, let alone arm myself. I have long term goals that span years. I have been doing extra work for months now without pay just for an opportunity for better employment.

Have built four dynamic web apps, a web scraper, two neural networks, about to finish 100 LeetCode problems, then will build one more neural network and apply for programming work. I have made it in this world as a white collar worker and a blue collar worker so I am confident even in the face of uncertainty.

That is because I am willing to work hard at anything. This is the key to success in whatever you do. Persistence, the willingness to go beyond your limits and expectations and achieve excellence. Even when I was sorting trash and cleaning construction sites I would push myself to excel.

There is a German saying that has been twisted: God is in the details. In everything you do, put in care and effort, and you will be rewarded. If you have a latent talent, it means nothing if it is unapplied. If you push yourself, you can achieve greatness with or without a special latent talent.

Many people in this world will discourage you and try to tell you that you can't do something. This is why greatness is a rare thing. Because for all the talented people in the world, few are willing to truly put in the work. That is what makes the difference.

Most work is done by a core amount of staff and good managers know that they need to keep these people happy because otherwise workflow gets fucked. Hard workers are increasingly hard to find. You don't have to be the best in the world at something to achieve great things career-wise, you just need to be good enough to beat out your immediate colleagues. Find that balance, that's what it takes.

Being a manger sucks. Other managers are catty and like to start shit for the sake of it. Mangers get trapped into what I call "managerial mode" when they get stuck on something and can't find a solution so they try and improvise but it never works. I remember some managers were looking for some shirts and I saw them looking in a tool chest for them. I said they wouldn't be there, the manger argued back saying we have to check everywhere just in case. We found what we were looking for, in the manger's office because he tried to do our job and like a manger didn't know how to do it.

It's certainly better to be an employee. No responsibility required on your part, just keep things running. I make sure nobody asks me for overtime as I always say that I have a second job to go to, I don't btw.

Good for you. I am a long term neet but I am seriously considering getting a job because I am sick and tired of thinking all the time. If I can occupy my time energy and mind for at least 8 hours a day I think I would be better off mentally. Hobbies, reading etc only go so far after many years. I also want to move to a quieter area so I need more money. Neeting is freedom but it is also slavery.
