This explains a lot of your politics, and why you do not understand human nature and man and woman.

You people are constantly wrestling with the Universe because you need to actively deny every supernatural experience and coincidences that you live through, while working tirelessly to find models to explain them through the framework of science. Nature itself whispers to you that God exists, and that there is an intended way of the Universe to work. By deafening yourselves, you became trannies, you forgot men want women, and you came to the idiotic notion that human nature is maleable and that all was made equal.

This is terrifying to me.

How do you live in a world without the supernatural? You experience life in such a weird and vulnerable way. We humans are the battleground between various entities that act through us and towards us, that is how the atheist chinese, the very religious indians, the orthodox russians, and the warm south americans experience life. We are all special in our own way, since we are worth enough that those wrestle for our soul.

I kid you not, things that you can't explain happen all the time around you and within you. How do you live like this?

Magic is just natural phenomena we haven't figured out how to commercialize yet.
The instant to figure out how to turn God into a retail product I promise you we will.

>there is an intended way of the Universe to work
magic is sort of by definition when the universe doesn't work that way
>things that you can't explain happen all the time
this is literally nonsense

What is the alternative, then? To labor endlessly in mental gymnastics to explain why you yourself have no importance on this Earth?

Do 1st-worlders really see things happening around them and suffer through many ordeals while they are like, "this is all gratuitious and for nothing because there is no God, no miracles, no plans, and nothing watching for me"? This sounds depressing.

You really don't understand, do you? It is less about Harry Potter, and more about believing that you have a role in the Universe and that you matter even if you cannot tell why right now.

>>509073937
The chinese constantly do it. The brazilians also do it. Since we have a magical understanding of reality (just read a romance from Gabriel García Márquez or other latino authors, that is exactly how we see life - magical realism), we constantly try to endanger ourselves toying with entities of this world and outside to achieve goals.

Brazilians do seem to understand the work of outer gods as the outline to all creation and providence. Unfortunately, some people exploit this as ignorance and pretend to be prophets for money.

It is just really strange how through all of humanity and all of history, people accepted the supernatural. Now, suddenly, a portion of the 1st-world decided that because they hate themselves and hate life, science now needs to prove every experience they go through until it becomes vapid and devoid of all meaning.

Based post but heads up Brazilanon, the word is “novel.” Actually, the old-fashioned word for them a few centuries ago in English was also “romance”, from the Latinate languages which use “romance”/“roman”/some version of it for novels, but now the meaning changed and a “romance” in English just means books or films predominantly about a romantic or sexual relationship.

Being transgender here is not like being transgender in the USA. A lot of us just do it for the money, because life as woman is easier and because women can easily make money through prostitution. Many men need to resort to this.

Transgenderism here is not about trying to become a woman. Sayuri herself (very americanized) says she won't be a woman, she wants to be treated like a trans-woman and that is her burden to make people treat her well.

Comparing transgenders between country borders is not correct because brazilian transgenders operate in the free market of 'pass or die'. American transgenders are just political entities, men in dress demanding special privileges because they supposedly feel like women and your society does not believe in God, so it does not believe in man and woman.

OK nevermind Brazilanon, I take back my “based.”
Actually, the parts about how we need a sense of the magical and divine in our life are still based, and the /lit/ taste in Gabriel Garcia Marquez, but this is no longer based
I wonder how long jannies will leave the thread up

Thank you very much, I struggle with English and I am still learning. I am currently reading through the Lord of the Flies and Emily Dickinson's books and trying to understand how americans see the world. I find it all very strange, since America is as a magical place as any other on this continent. You are not like Europe, you still have fae, material apparitions, clear machinations of things you do not understand happening daily. Europe, I understood when I visited, seems devoid of all magic that is superfluous, like something horrible happened there.

I don't believe in magic because it obviously doesn't exist.
Nobody is casting fireballs at each other.
Nobody levitates.
Nobody can see through walls.
Nobody can teleport.
Nobody can conjure a cheeseburger or $20 out of thin air.

It is very unfortunate that I can't be based, I just must clarify misconceptions.

Also, this is political.

I think it is political because the way you see your life and your sense of priority in the Universe directly impacts politics.

If you do not believe in God, you are instantly more demoralized and worthless. You can be easily dominated. You will not resist or try to achieve anything great or very hard, since there is nothing to support you and no omens that you are the chosen one to achieve that goal.
