But he definitely knows what he’s doing and he absolutely understands the way abd the extent to which it confuses or deceives his adversary. The main question would be, what is his core allegiance? What does he actually believe in. I’m hoping it’s both America and a conception of what that means in a substantive and essential way. Like, not only America but what makes America America. It looks promising right now. His presidency is, has been and will continue to be a transformative experience for the country and the world.

Say what you want about Roy Cohn and think whatever you will about Trumps association with him, but Roy openly said Trump was the smartest person he ever met. Roy knew some sharp cookies. Roy was friggin Joe McArthy’s council before congress when he was still basically a kid. That is high praise.
