The competency crisis is real and was real before 2020. It’s definitely caused in part by demographics, but it’s also largely a self inflicted cultural wound- we entered an apologetic phase before the rest of the worlds cultures had reached the level of maturity necessary to be able to accept an apology and live in peace with us.
We believed our own equality fairy tales (or maybe they were injected into our culture as memetic poison by a cosmopolitan elite). We made a game-theoretical error that is possibly civilization-ending. We were wrong, and from a position that can be defended as an altruistic and advanced attempt at elevating human civilization overall.
The problem is… if it could have worked, it wouldn’t have been necessary.
