Like 6 million dying in the gas chambers of Auschwitz is a ridiculous figure and no serious historian has those numbers, something like 1.5 million at Auschwitz, which again, includes those who died of other causes like disease is what I've seen and is a bit more believable.
I believe more died of disease and malnourishment and exhaustion than any intentional killing.
Still a lot were intentionally killed.
However the gas chamber deaths are kinda poorly understood. They didn't use enough zyklon B to kill everyone in the chamber. But what happened was the chamber was packed so tightly, that the few people who were closest to where the zyklon B was dumped died from poisoning, their bodies went slack and were dead weight, and caused people around them to collapse under their weight which caused a domino effect of people basically being suffocated by being crushed by the people around them going limp and dead weight.
