But oh well, if you want an answer:
Broadly speaking, the internet has ruined interpersonal connections, picking up social norms and clues. Because it is mainly in plain text form, it's hard to evaluate if a person is serious, being cheeky or plainly lying. In actual, irl conversations, voice tone, pitch, gestures and body composition all tell you alot more than just words that have been spoken. But these are completely missing online and remain untrained, leading to an atrophied "muscle" of social interaction.
On a personal note: As a child, i really disliked speaking to girls; They had completely different interests than me, which made me think talking to them is pointless. As i got older, my interest about their bodies obviously came up, but their minds were still not interesting. So i made the rule to myself to find a woman with an interesting mind and marry her. I have been unsuccessful so far. The fear starts to creep in that such a woman only exists in my mind. But i will carry my own rule to the grave if i have to.
