What is with the processed food shilling going on today?
Companies selling processed food don't design their products around people and their needs, but rather how much they can skimp to achieve maximum profit.
If they could get away with adding sawdust to everything they would in a heartbeat.

Petroleum based solvents and the like probably are bad, yeah. Drinking gasoline is bad for you. Eating Red #40 is bad for you. Eating Red #3 is bad for you. Eatings Trans-fats is bad for you. All these things don't exist in natural organic food, but can be found in the processed food you mention.
