It's true, I'm a mutt. I don't feel like I belong anywhere and I can't relate to either my father nor my mother, even though I know they love me. I get racism from both sides too, either believing I'm just "not enough" like them, and they're not wrong. It also comes with a variety of health issues. For example, there are several cheese makers on my dad's side, but I'm lactose intolerant and can't enjoy it they way I should... I love cheese, butter, milk, ice cream, etc. but can't really have it often. It's torture. And I know a lot of people that feel the same, but we keep it to ourselves and each other because nobody else gets it. A lot of mixed people have much more severe illness, conditions, or disorders.

If it wasn't for the Internet, I would have killed myself long ago due to not belonging anywhere but online where I have no face and no race most of the times. I know that people don't really choose who they fall in love with, but I wish it wasn't romanticized.

Please don't race mix, think about your children, who want to look at you and think "this is my father, I look like him" but can't. It's a very sad feeling.

My mother is Moroccan. She doesn't pass as European, and neither do I, but I also don't look Northern African. My father has blonde hair and blue eyes with pale skin, and my mother brown hair and greenish eyes with olive skin that is more like caramel or cinnamon. Based on anecdotal evidence from relatively wealthy people I've met? No. There's something essential to knowing you intrinsically belong to a people. Not having that is detrimental to a person. It's not the end of the world, but you can't really fully claim either culture, so you're forced to be a rootless cosmopolitan. It is what it is. Also you may end up looking weird and ambiguous and if you live in a homogenous white country, you'll have a harder time dating.

I'm sort of comfortable with each side's heritage but it's weird seeing my cousins who are 100% chinks and not one of their families are broken through divorce. And although I may be comfortable, I don't really feel like I belong. Growing up all my friends were white but I was different from them.

I'm a mutt born and raised in the US. It's pretty based ngl. I get the best of both worlds. What I find strange is my white friends consider me a "white dude" but that seems to just have to do with my hobbies and political views.

I did the 70s- in DC. it's a forgiving area. In the 70s there were no Asians at large. My grandparents got side eyed all the time. It's a black area by and large... But the diasporas used to segregate.

Relatable. One side of my family was all middle / northern Italians and the other Italian / Irish / English / French mix (mostly Italian but enough Irish to see the difference). I always identified with the Italian side of the family because it was the only side that adhered to traditions such as extended family gatherings on Sundays and Wednesdays, church at least once a week, family recipes, strong emphasis on family gatherings and cohesion and working differences out. So on and so forth. I noticed in the mixed side of my family no one was close. On the Italian side it was completely different. We really all fell for the multiculturalism race mixing meme in the West and got punished for it. I intend on reproducing with a Northern Italian woman and diminishing the admixture as much as possible. While it will never truly dissipate, down the line it will weaken and the native local genes shall continue. The argument that trying to ensure the continued survival of your sociobiological lineage and your cultural values is somehow racist has got to be one of the biggest tragedies of the last twenty years. Mixed. It has no bearing on my identity. I am just Canadian. Politically it has some bearing since my dad is a refugee and we had some family come here and on the other side we lived in our province since before it was a province. I'm conservative from my dad since he is from Asia but my mom's side is pretty liberal. It's a good balance. My dad is pragmatic but my mom is more empathetic. I think the right way is a balance of both.
