I still don't understand how socialists can be simultaneously anti-capitalist and pro-sex work.

Many socialists support the legalization or decriminalization of sex work, viewing it as a labor rights issue where sex workers deserve protections, fair working conditions, and access to healthcare. However, opinions vary: some socialist feminists argue that sex work inherently exploits women under capitalism and advocate for abolitionist approaches instead. The divide often hinges on whether sex work is seen as legitimate labor or as a form of systemic exploitation.

They're "pro-sex work" in the sense that they sympathize with prostitutes and don't want to punish them or forcibly stop them if that's the way they pay the bills. "Pro-sex work" leftists are pretty universally anti-pimp and most are anti-john too (ie, they support the "Nordic model" where selling sex is decriminalized buy buying it is still illegal)
