JRPG: Creates vast world that you get to explore at a leisurely pace, resulting in a sense of adventure and wonder.
Western RPG: Ushers you from plot point to the next plot point rapidly -- not enough worldbuilding
This, of course, is a generalization, but as such it generally rings true.
Take me back to the Golden Age of JRPGs, i.e. the 90s and much of the 2000s.

When I was like 8 I used to read the walk through for this in an old gaming magazine. Could never find the game to play on my ps1. When I learned what an emulator was I played the shit out of this for years

idk what this is but it probably wasn't as good as the original final fantasy games or dragon warror which then became dragon quest.
