This forum is the single most active uncensored space online and is highly monitored by the government. There is even participation by military organizations.
As such, it is the ideal place for dissent to reach the public and is also a backchannel into the heart of the government. It also encourages Socratic discussion over popularity competitions.
There are definitely some serious discussions here and important things being said. Just five years ago we lived under massive authoritarian lockdowns while governments worldwide pushed an experimental gene therapy on their population and this was the largest place online that was allowed to dissent against it.

Back in 2011 when the board came back, this was a place of unparalleled quality. We posted dumps of book scans, recorded lectures and speeches, just all the most mind-nourishing information condensed into easy accessible forms.
