He was trying to develop a character for himself which mostly consisted of shaving his facial hair in weird ways and getting sleeve tattoos. I remember we were all sitting around stoned when he came home and gave us a glimpse of his first partial sleeve. It was an abstract tribal bullshit kind of thing with a lot of blocky interlocked shapes. We all started laughing because the name "BOB" was clearly visible in block letters. He'd designed it all himself and didn't realize.
