Without the Soviet Union Germany would have won WWII and there would have been no Israel, Cold War or War on Terror. The space race probably would have lasted longer and we would be more advanced like For All Mankind irl.

Im totally against commie bullshit, but the initial few years of communist reform at least brought Russia to a point where they could compete with the rest of the world on some level, especially militarily.

After the 1960s communism should have been dissolved though, thats when computers really started to come around. They should have focused on liberalism and capitalism, central banks and democracy, and increasing trade with the west.

But they didnt, instead they continued with jingoism and sphereling states to the USSR that bought shitty cars with carburetors into the 1990s (while the west got rid of that outdated shit 20 years earlier). Etc etc.

Its like the commies just looked at their future slip away from russia, and they just went "WELP, LETS JUST DO MORE OF IT!!!".

Russia is a shithole that still depends on this soviet infrastructure. I guess thats impressive in a shitty dystopian kind of way. Too bad

The Soviet saved the world from fascism, liberated Eastern Europeans from illiteracy, and decolonized Africa. They were a net good for the world.
