>>509217977He's a vibe coder, but his code is extremely irrational.
The one you're probably thinking of is Alex Mahan (yanderedev / evaxephon). ...
Yandev is practically new to coding complex shit, but, in my honest opinion (yes I am spelling it out this time), Yandev is a far better coder and game developer than Jason Hall (maldavious fagtree / thor / piratesoftware).
The reason is simple: yandev codes with oversight and modular, even with his older if-else trees. He comments, he names things logically (for him), letting him keep track of his stuff.
PirateSoftware stacks all of his game's functions onto the same list, which each event, each happening has its own number associated with it.
Thingy 316, value 3... oh that means the player bought coffee early in the game instead of now.
Another problem I noticed at least from quickly glancing over is that piratesoftware thinks using the steam emulator 'goldberg' means his game got pirated. Its a tool used to step away from steam and play a game whenever; you can find it and build your own.
once the game is pirated, it becomes apparently unplayable. Also, his game can run without steam-- as in Steam--Offline Mode, but only when it is started up that way. Apparently if you lose connection and get an achievement the game crashes. It needs to initialize as offline basically.
Very weird.
Also, to make an RPG Maker-ish game, it takes pirate software 10 years, even though he promised it would be done within a year or two while it was on Steam Greenlight (remember that?)
Check his kiwifarms page for more info lol
