Earth has been under a protective quarantine from the rest of the Universe for ages. This quarantine limits interference by extraterrestrial groups to preserve human free will. Earth's protective quarantine can only be breached under certain conditions such as if we threaten our own planet, then technically the "greater community" of life in the cosmos is permitted to intervene.

We have allies in the Universe who respect us and are concerned with individual free will but an ever-growing collective of others views us as violent and primitive with no such respect and are actively encouraging a state of affairs where an intervention is required. This intervention appears to be moving forward and should be expected to happen within the next two years. Nobody seems to know what this intervention means for the future of humanity but its not looking too good.
