Rural Maine hospitals have had to shut down or run at a loss even with the Medicaid money. I lost my dentist this year and was already driving an hour to him. It’s a big problem and she is representing us.

basically every government funding stream that is sent to each state is captured by political elites and redirected into lobbyist coffers. the most obvious example is federal highway funds which always are paid out to state approved contractors within each jurisdiction. healthcare funding works the same way--medicaid funding is received and awarded to state approved hospitals and clinics which have an extremely strong lobby and provide massive political campaign donations to representative during campaign season.

if you follow the money, it all makes sense: $5.9B to state hospitals becomes $5.9M in political campaign contributions as a form of kickback or laundering. this is how our representative democracy functions behind the curtain of voting. take away the six billion and her campaign will have a six million dollar funding shortfall come election season.
