all this shit can be re-added via reconciliation with the house bill. the house ultimately is the authority on budgetary bills, not the senate. it remains to be seen how much political will can be created to force through these kinds of changes in Congress, but as it stands, only cutting the US deficit by half is not a significant nor worthy outcome given the total control of the US governemnt attained by republicans after the last election.

the BBB as it stands today definitely represents a political failure.

he wanted it passed out of the senate by the 4th. the house process will proceed at its own pace. there is no reason to rush.

>>509230356
it may be. it can be. the current bill isnt that great. we can do better, and we should do better.

no point giving up before the end. call your representatives office and ask for stripped provisions to be re-added. it can and does make a difference.

nonsense. this reconciliation process happens all the time. with how narrow the original BBB passed the House, there is almost no chance the Senate version passes unaltered.

who cares about the HPA? it is just a tiny scrap anyway. it doesn't matter how much you want something like that. there are bigger issues in our country like excessive spending that we have to fix politically one way or another. many states have their own preemption on suppressors anyway. removing a tax stamp from suppressors just cuts out some paperwork for owning one in the first place. that isn't a relevant barrier or obstacle to ownership in 99% of cases. if you cant afford a suppressor, you cant afford a gun anyway.

no. HPA would be nice, but it really isnt that important in real world terms. it might come back in the house, like many of the senate removals might come back in the house. that's just the process we have.

take a moment to read the screenshot. they're listing a dozen elements, not just HPA.
