You can not stop the new system from unraveling because over five billion people gave their consent to it a few years ago. The rest will follow and will get on with the program once they get a stake in it and other benefits as well.
All the new system needs to succeed is to be slightly better than the current one, which is not very hard by the way, so it will be a complete success just like it always was throughout history. Sure it doesn't last forever but if it lasts several centuries that's already good enough.
