Just be sensible: there is no reason for the UK to take unlimited amounts of unskilled immigrants, handout unlimited benefits (which, come on, after more than a decade of Tory governments, is not even true anymore). Deep integration efforts, background checks etc. should be mandatory for needed skilled foreign workers and make it impossible for tourists/students to overstay their visas. The UK doesn't have such an extreme social divide along income/wealth inequality lines that you're basically segregated from experiencing both in terms of the people you come into contact with, even if you have an unskilled job. And being middle class doesn't automatically mean that they're a yobbish chav. There are many decent white people in the UK of course, I just don't see the evidence that this distribution of decent people is based on race. Annoying cultural differences is a valid argument, especially in the case of people who refuse to change and integrate but it's not half as bad an issue as the criminal behavior of many natives. You don't have to tolerate one because of the other, just saying that one is actually worse.

From a quick research: most UK retirees receive state pension but many also get other pensions which are based on the invested funds they contributed from their salary during their working years that is not dependent on the current labor force paying taxes on their incomes to support state pensions, so maybe a smaller pool of contributing workers may not have a huge impact overall but unfulfilled vacancies of many essential jobs due to a shrinking labor force is a pretty big hit to everyone's standard of living. Foreign workers are people you didn't pay to train/educate and don't have to wait to grow up to start working. I don't think zero foreign workers will bring the best outcome. "Just pay people more" would also make everything more expensive through inflation so it's kinda pointless and probably still wouldn't solve the problem since many people simply don't want to work dirty/physically intensive jobs no matter how much it pays. Not saying there aren't any natives in these occupations, just that many vacancies would still go unfulfilled without foreigners. To keep a good balance of somewhat decent wages and affordable goods and services, foreign workers are needed and the amount needed will rise with declining fertility rates if automation doesn't/can't pick up the slack.
