you can see the spending is out of control here. the state does not collect or publish demographic information for its program recipients however, much less immigration status. youre asserting the elimination of medicaid coverage for illegals does not impact alaskans, so be it, but in that case alaska is the sole exception in the nation and still has the exact same overspending/overbudget problem as every other state program.
the problem comes from medicaid originally covering children of course. the excess babies are anchor babies for illegals, so maybe your definition of illegal crisis doesnt match mine. even if these households with anchor children are technically 'not illegal', all state medicaid programs are blowing out spending projections providing services to these people. since the federal bill being passed affects all state programs, even if it is possible alaska is uniquely unaffected by these changes, resolving the national medicaid illegal spending crisis requires these federal changes.
tldr the 'alaskan illegal crisis' is the same as the 'national illegal crisis'. medicaid reimbursement expenses are growing at rates far beyond the underlying economic and tax bases, both at the state and national level. the report documents clearly the causes and consequences of the overspending crisis. the bbb proposes to fix much of the problem by revoking eligibility for illegals and for able bodied nonworkers. good enough for me.
