Can Buddhist emptiness (śūnyatā) offer a way to overcome Western nihilism?

Alan Watts did several interesting lectures and wrote a book on the Tao and Zen Buddhism back in 1975, comparing it to western philosophy.
It is not "nothingness" as the west commonly believes, and can give you perspective on the forces that influence humanity through detachment.

A follower of Christ might visualize themselves in the light side of the Yin Yang, or the Yang. Order, charity, justice contrasting with chaos, deceit, and empathy.

You might come to the conclusion that God permitted Satan to take his actions because only then could humans have the knowledge to make a choice. That the choice itself must be thoughtful and educated, and there is no shame in picking your side.

The idea in OP's pic is also in line with the idea of the Holy Spirit. Aka we are not merely some vessel purely of self ego. We are connected to one another in grand ways that are almost mystical. Zen suggests merely to disentangle one's ego from the picture to regain clarity.
