Why did the term "tranny" suddenly become a slur and offensive in recent years when they came up with the term themselves?
I remember hearing my family use the word growing up, and they never cuss, so it wasn't used in a derogatory way by them or anyone i know.
There's no negative historical context behind "tranny" either like racial slurs. It was used as a nickname for MTF's in porn, but your average MTF called themselves a tranny day to day.
I thought that it was always used as a nickname for trans people , so the outrage over when one says it shocks me.
Congresswoman Nance Mace got backlash saying it and i thought "since when was tranny ever offensive?"
I feel like they don't like the terminology anymore because they want to believe they are changing opposite sex. The new aged troons are very entitled, verseus the older generation of trannies didn't mind saying "im a man that wanted to look like a woman" and "im a biological man"
We know that calling a MTF "trans woman" is affirming in their heads.

In my opinion, it became a slur when the world attempted to change the definitions of what it trans meant.

In the old days, a transvestite was someone who enjoyed dressing in the clothes of the other sex. This didn't mean that they THOUGHT they were a woman, or even that they were gay; it was simply treated as a kink.

An example of this would be the old TV show "Hill Street Blues"; where one of the side-characters is a judge who starts dressing in women's clothes to get in touch with his 'feminine side'. He was still straight and liked women, but that was just his kink.

But later, when they tried to forward the argument that trans "were' women; they had to suppress those who wore the clothes but weren't outright mentally ill.

Transsexual implies charging sex with is physically impossible.

This isn't even true, I had gay thoughts before even being exposed to ANYTHING while I was in K4 maybe first grade. It occurs naturally most of the time. Environment is a factor yes but not in the way you're seeing it usually. I think kids are pretty smart and just being exposed to the dynamics of males, females, relationships. I think the brain probably subconsciously is already realizing that other men are the only chance for a partner and that seed grows a lot over time and is probably only ever planted due to genetic factors and diet. Etc. Maybe I'm wrong but this is my experience. Seems to only occur after civilizations and agriculture, luxury, etc, are established. I could just be normal but like why would I be? Before that there were transvestites and cross-dressers and drag shows, but they were all universally acknowledged to be 100% men who were just dressed up as women.
