You can't do that with BTC. Even if you have internet you still have to wait for network confirmations. The seller will want to wait so he doesn't get ripped off. Plus there are huge fees. There is no fee to handing a piece of silver to someone.

>If a baker had bread and a seller had gold then they could trade on the spot by hand.
Nobody does this. Ever. Like, try going to a store and paying the baker with gold. For one, how does the baker know it's authentic gold without testing it first? The baker has to trust the buyer not to rip him off with scam gold. There are also costs to transporting non-trivial amounts of metal. It takes energy to move that much mass around.

Man there's been so much bitcoin shilling recently, a huge dip must be coming. I bought stupid ETH last time for $1800, finally sold it now it went up a bit to $2591, let's not get greedy. Lesson for everyone interested in crypto: don't buy any other shit, just bitcoin. Everything else is a strictly worse version, getting less and less valuable compared to BTC. Just look at ETH, bitcoin is at an all time high again, but ETH is worth barely more than half of its highest price, not even back to the $2800 peak a few weeks ago. I guess only BTC has enough greater fools buying into it.

all it takes is for businesses to accept bitcoin in exchange for their goods and services, which is gradually becoming more common.
Steak n Shake started accepting Bitcoin payments recently.

if you buy Bitcoin only once it has gained mainstream adoption, then you won't have taken advantages of its gain during its growth phase.

For example I trade as a hobby rare coins and collectables, usually my profit is 50% and from my business the profit margins are 20%, in total whatever I do gives me 50%-70% profit after tax without having to worry about market crashes, speculation, rug pulls etc. I always have money on me, gold, collectables. Whatever the fuck happens I have an 'emergency' plan. Bitcoin does not give you monthly 20% of it's worth in profits. You just keep it, like gold. The thing is that we all know gold and silver are better long term stable investments than Bitcoin or any crypto.

Adoption isn't high enough for normies like you to start using it right now but Bitcoin has grown a lot over the years.
People who invest in it now are speculating on this trend continuing and for adoption to increase.

Average annualised return for Bitcoin is 61.2% over the past 5 years.
