There is no one solid and unified "atheistic worldview". To be an atheist simply means one does not believe in a god. That's it. They can still have their own opinions and worldview based on other factors or based on their individual perception of the world. I've never once met an athiest who claimed humans were "no different from pigs". I've met a lot of athiests who don't believe in killing pigs because they're living beings, however. Christians on the other hand have an anthropocentric worldview which pretends that the lives of humans are all that matters in the world because "muh god gave us dominion" bullshit.

Because that's literally how it is. No one has ever come back from the dead to tell you in detail about what happens. Many people are not willing to spend their entire lives on a "maybe" and would rather actually enjoy the lives they were handed by chance. The burden of proof of god or an afterlife is not on athiests, it's on religious people.

I never said humans were no different than pigs, they're obviously different beings. However I don't have an anthropocentric worldview, and I'm a vegetarian for ethical reasons and I go out of my way to avoid killing living beings unless they're directly threatening my health or safety. I've met many athiests and non-Christians who feel the same way or similar, but will never claim humans and pigs are literally the same.
