That picture is Red Lodge, Montana. I live there. It's a beautiful high trust society where my children roam all over town without me worrying about whether they're going to be raped by bums, and my bike lock has rusted shut from disuse. I left my skis up at the ski area for 3 days and they were right where I left them. Wild turkeys visit my yard every day and there's a deer we named Rhea that lets you pet her if you have food. Dunbar's number is absolutely a real thing. Knowing you're going to see someone at the post office, then at grocery store, then at the farmer's market, it holds you accountable. You can't be a dick, because everyone is sort of your friend. I think the smaller town amplifies cultural customs too, we have a strong identity for what it means to be from Red Lodge. We respect and revere our history and customs. I love my town. Peak society.
