Yes, Lower Silesia alone was worth more that all that eastern shit. There were some Poles in Vilnius but around the city in the villages all the people weren't polish. And if Poland kept that city all those hostile villagers would just riot and kill all the Poles in the city. The loss of Lviv hurts much more but the other land was simply worth more.

Also, it all had a metaphorical meaning of the country moving towards the west and most importantly away from the soviets.
